Join John Vincent and Kerry Kellaway, Head of Library at Marjon University for a practical, face-to-face workshop session on 30 June, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop takes place at Plymouth Marjon University, Derriford Road, Plymouth PL6 8BH
The session is provided free of charge to colleagues working in libraries in any sector in Cornwall or Devon. The training is provided by the Peninsula of Sanctuary: Libraries project, supported by a grant from SWRLS.
The morning will cover the background to the provision of library services for new arrivals, and provide the opportunity to share good practice and develop ideas with other attendees at the session:
Identifying what we are already doing well and could develop further
Exploring opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in other library sectors, as
well as other partners.
Developing practical ideas and next steps to take back to your library.
The training is suitable for those who have already attended John's online session 'Working with New Arrivals' and are keen to develop your practice further, as well as those who are new to the topic and want to learn more.
John Vincent is author of Libraries and Sanctuary: Supporting Refugees and New Arrivals (Facet Publishing, 2022) and founder of The Network.
