Access to e-Resources Access Task Group

Following the success of the "Access for All" conference, December 2008 ( See

http://www.swrls.org.uk/Inspire/Electronic_Resources for presentations)

the Regional Council at its AGM in 2009, set up an e-Resources Access Task Group.

The brief of the group was to consider the recommendations of the Haervi (HE Access to E-Resources in Visited instituions) and the RIN (Overcoming Barriers) Reports and to explore ways of improving acces to these resources in the SW.

A short paper, by Jackie Chelin, was subsequently tabled at the Regional Council meeting on 16th March. /assets/swrls briefing paper.pdf

It was agreed in view of the recent announcement by JISC, through the BL e tender process, that a reserach project would be funded to consider similar issues, SWRLS would indicate its willingness to work with the successful bidder.
