SWRLS:  TABLE OF CHARGES 2009/10

Cost of annual membership

Public libraries  =  based on size of authority.  For 2009-10, this is £7.82 per 1,000 population.

HE libraries  =  set amount.  For 2009-10, this is £158.00

Other academic and special libraries  =  set amount.  For 2009-10, this is £53.00

Charge per item borrowed within SWRLS

Public libraries  =  Nil

Other libraries  =  £5.10 per item.

NB.  The supply of photocopies between SWRLS members is not included within the above arrangements.  SWRLS members should recover the costs of supplying photocopies to each other at the time of supply. 

Net lending credit

Applies when the total number of items loaned to other SWRLS members exceeds the total number borrowed from other SWRLS members.

All sectors  =  £1.75.  (Example:  10 items loaned/5 items borrowed = credit of £8.75)

Invoicing

The invoice for a new financial year is made up of all the above factors.  Any net lending credit figure to be applied is derived from the previous year’s statistics. 

NON-SWRLS CHARGES

Items supplied by the British Library (charges apply from 1 August 2009)

Books               =  £9.90 per item  

Photocopies      =  £5.40+VAT each (electronic delivery); £6.40+VAT (by post)

Items supplied by CONARLS (charges apply from 1 August 2008)

£5.50 per item

Hays DX standard transport costs (charges apply from 1^st May 2009)

(NB charges apply in each direction)

Up to 1 kg                     = £1.75(applies to the great majority of items)

1 to 10 kgs                    = £2.20

10 to 25 kgs                  = £2.75

Tracking surcharge         = £2.75
